So there you go, Black Mountain is my album of the year, that I know. Its probably the album I’ve listened to the most out of any and it just has this feel of a proper classic, retro yet forward looking, underground yet accessible, I think more people will hear this album next year and it may be a bit of a slow burner, who knows-there is already a new Pink Mountaintops album in the pipeline, Stephen McBean doesn’t hang around!
And The Magic Numbers is definitely 7th best album of the year, that is a given!!!

Have a listen to any of these bands if you didn’t hear them this year, its all good stuff and proof there is always something good out there.
New Years resolutions for us all should be to keep hunting down this great new music and spread the word when you find it, this year I have downloaded more music than ever but I’ve bought more obscure stuff, gone to different gigs and preached the good word of bands that are truly special, if we keep on keeping on next year then the scene can only get stronger.

Heres to a good one, see you next year!
